Home... or is it?

Well, since my great-grandmother died, my family and I drove all the way back up to our old home, the place I lived for a little over fourteen years. It's so strange to be back "home" because it isn't home anymore, Kentucky is. But nothing here has really changed. The people carry on with their lives, children play, and learn in school. Adults talk, and worry over the news. There are party's, birthdays, and lots of other things happening here without us, just as they would have if we were still here. No one's lives have changed that much because of us moving, and yet our have changed immensely, as have the lives of all the people we've met in Kentucky. We've learned to love our new living place, and consider it our home. We've made new friends, and joined homeschool groups, and a church... it's just so strange to me. No matter where you go, whether you show up in a place, or leave a place, life goes on at least somewhat near the same it always had before. That's what happens when you die too. You go to heaven... or the other place. But life goes on for those outside, just like it did before you were born, just like it always has, and the world keeps turning. Every person changes and molds the world a little bit, but sometimes we think too selfishly. We think we ARE the world, just remember, without you, the world is a different place, and the people who knew you would miss you, but life goes on. Days and nights pass, whether we want them to or not. The world keeps turning. Spring turns to summer, and summer to autumn, and autumn to winter, just the same as before. Some things change... and some things NEVER change.

Daylight Savings Time

Don't get me wrong here, I love that days are longer in Summer, but it kinda ruins our entire sleep system when we lose a whole hour of sleep! The worst part is that last night my baby brother screamed for an hour or so, and Sunday is the one day of the week I get up really early. So basically, I'm exhausted. I think I will take a nap later, and this evening I'll watch Downton Abbey. Yes, that sounds nice, make up for lost hours of sleep by relaxing today. Do any of you have things you do on the day of Daylight Savings Time? On the bright side of things, yesterday I had Fish N Chips at Red Robin! Of course, since I had a British dish, I had to speak in a British accent, and eat even the fries with a fork. Of course, seeing as I'm a new Whovian, I did want to try eating Fish sticks with Custard. Thank goodness I don't have Greek class today, I would never be able to concentrate! Also, I have a fun project that I just finished, which will be revealed on Monday (yep, tomorrow!!!) so tune in tomorrow at whatever time I actually get it posted! Have a wonderful, blessed Sunday!

Spring is coming!!!

So, it seems that Spring and warmer weather are rounding the bend! I am so excited for warmer weather, I really don't like the cold. Are you all excited for Spring? What is your favorite season?

Today we visited a library we hadn't been to yet. It was a small building in width, but fairly tall. You would go to a different level depending on what you were looking for. Fiction? Second floor. Reference? Third floor. Non-Fiction? Fourth floor! So each floor is designated to a different type! Have you ever been in a library like that?

Tomorrow I have co-op! I so excited for Book Club, as well as an After-Classes Choir workshop! What are some of your favorite extra-curricular activities?

Tonight I expect I'll just rest up, read Breakaway by Jeff Hirsch, drink some tea or coffee, maybe write a couple letters. It'll be a nice way to stay warm and cozy in this cold weather while I wait for Spring! What books are you reading right now?

A Day, or Two, or Three...

I know, I know, boo hiss. I haven't been writing any blog posts lately! I've been SO busy, and SO MUCH has been going on! For instance, I joined a homeschool co-op, I started taking a Greek class, we had Valentine's Day, my baby brother's 1st birthday, and soon, St. Patrick's Day/ my dad's birthday! So yeah, life has been crazy busy! In co-op I'm taking Mixed Bag, Book Club, and Show Choir. Mixed bag is fun crafts and games, and I made a gift for my best friend and magnets for our fridge! In Book Club so far we've read The Wanderer, Summer of the Monkeys, and right now Gathering Blue! It's been SO fun to read books and discuss them with other people who love to read! Some share my opinion, and others have different opinions! My last class, Show Choir, has been absolutely thrilling! I LOVE singing in a group which is something I haven't done in a long time! I love being with other people who love music, and the songs are really fun. I love all of my teachers for all of my classes! Greek Class is after church every Sunday, and so far I've only been to one class, and our first assignment is learning the Greek alphabet! I LOVE digging in and learning a new language! I've been learning so much lately, about myself, about God, about my family, my friends, and lots of other things! I guess Winter, even though it's cold and we stay inside most of the time, is a time of reflection. I mean, if you're stuck inside all day, you're bound to do some thinking. But, I'm SO excited for Spring, and it's almost here!!!! Spring makes me so happy. Who else is ready for Spring to get here, or there, or wherever you are?! That's all for now! Goodbye and good Irish luck! ;-P
